2022 has us feeling energized and inspired by all of the good things happening in the world. From the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act, which includes the largest investment in climate action, green energy and environmental justice...ever, to the Chouinard Family's decision to give away Patagonia to ensure the company's profits are dedicated to protecting the planet forever, there's a lot to be hopeful about as we face the challenges of the climate crisis together.
When it comes to saving the planet, elections matter. And there's still so much work to be done. This year, we're partnering with Sunrise Movement ahead of the 2022 Midterm Elections. From now until election day, November 8th, we’re donating $5 of every pair of sunglasses sold to support the Sunrise Movement in their efforts to elect climate leaders to our country’s government.
Sunrise is a youth-led movement to stop climate change and create millions of good jobs in the process. Sunrise is building an army of young people to make climate change an urgent priority across America, end the corrupting influence of fossil fuel executives on our politics, and elect leaders who stand up for the health and wellbeing of all people.
This year, all 435 seats in the House of Representatives, and a third of the seats in the Senate are up for election. Winners of the midterm election are determined by popular vote, rather than the electoral college. AKA, the power to save the planet is truly in the hands of the people!

Looking back at our 2020 Election Campaign:
2020 proved to be a year of challenge and learning. As a country, we lived through a destructive pandemic, a breakdown of our justice system and a new era of extreme weather events. Through this period of uncertainty across the nation, we evolved as a small business, both in our will to survive and our will to participate as proud environmentalists in the election's pivotal impact on America.
Amidst so much tragedy in that unexpected year, we were energized by the new conditions being built across the spectrum of progressive movements. We stayed rooted in our commitment to sustainability and lended our voice in the fight for social justice.
Our goal in 2020 was simple: help Sunrise Movement elect leaders who take climate change and social justice seriously. That’s why we pledged to donate $5 for every pair of sunglasses purchased from September until Election Day towards Sunrise Movement’s youth-led climate activism.
This election was a moment of huge consequence and opportunity for both our planet and the people on it. We want our future to be lived on a healthy planet where all people are treated equally, with dignity and respect. We’re committed to contributing towards that vision and hope you’ll join us.
